The Department of the Interior is proposing sweeping changes to this landmark
environmental law and has extended the deadline for comments by one month.
Under the new regulations, federal agencies would no longer have to consult
with
experts
at the U.S.
Fish and
Wildlife
Service
and the
National Marine Fisheries Service. Instead, the agency proposing the project
would have the power to decide how it would affect wildlife.
